It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Valerie, at the age of 66 on September 30, 2025, peacefully surrounded by family. Valerie lived a life marked by perseverance, compassion, and quiet strength. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend who always found ways to care for others even through her own challenges.

Valerie passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at the age of 66. Predeceased by her husband Paul (2020) and her daughter Dianne (1981). Loving mother of Philippe (Katrina), Deborah, and Justin. Cherished Grandma of the late Corbin (2024), Jackson, Evelina, Sebastian, Hayden, Mackenzie, Logan, and Everly. Beloved daughter of Kathleen and the late Charles Hill. Dear sister of Charles Jr. (Laurie), Sharon (Scott), and Gerald (Debra). Valerie will be dearly missed by her nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family members.

The family extends their deepest gratitude and appreciation to the nursing team at Chapel Heights, the PSW team at Chapel Heights, and the Harmony PSW team for their compassionate care.

Friends are invited to join the family at George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines, on Monday, October 6th, for visitation from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. A funeral service celebrating Valerie’s life will take place at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
