A Complete Understanding Of Funeral Pricing
Funerals can be costly, especially if you want customized services. Many individuals are unaware of what is included in funeral pricing. We at George Darte Funeral Home have seen that people often select services that they do not need.
The Price Breakdown
We are here to advise you on pricing so that you can plan your budget. Here are few examples of what it might include:
1. Basic Service Charge
For the services given, you must pay this charge to the funeral director. It is applicable to both overhead & basic costs. Plans differ from one funeral home to the next, but you can discuss your plans with the funeral director and obtain an estimate before engaging their services. In certain instances, the basic plan would include:
- Organizing the papers
- Obtaining duplicates of the death certificate
- Obtaining the required permits
- Preservation of the remains
- Overhead expenses
- Collaborating with crematoriums, cemeteries, and other third-party providers
These standard expenses may change if the funeral home handles the forwarding or receipt of the remains on client request.
2. Extra Services
There are optional facilities that the funeral home will offer, but you can ask for them if they are necessary. If you only require a simple funeral, the regular package is sufficient; there is no need to contract additional solutions. Among these services are:
- Viewing or a memorial service
- Hearse or a limousine hire
- Urns, caskets, and funeral boxes
- Embalming
- Burial attire
Although these are optional, they are provided by the funeral home. You can hire other vendors to do it, but it is still more convenient to let a funeral manage these. You will be required to pay cash advances for third-party services such as graveyard/cemetery use, priest or celebrant, musicians, flowers, and so on.
