Obituary of Francis Louis Richardson

RICHARDSON, Francis Louis: May 27, 1930 - Passed away peacefully in his eighty third year at the Welland Hospital on December 15, 2012. Frank leaves behind his beloved wife Marilyn (Dowd) of 60 years. Cherished father of Carol Aiken (Robert), James (Heather), Janet (Vic), Rob(Pam) and Patricia, who will miss him dearly. Loving grandfather of Hillary, Meredith, Tiffany (Ross), Trista, Angela(Andy), Daniel, Paul, Cassandra, Codi Lee, Jessica, Sondra, Grant, Brandon, and Brittany. He was predeceased by his sister Veronica Cookson and grandson Trent Richardson. Frank also leaves behind, his sister Della (Ken Dowd) brothers Gerry (Pat), Reg(Ruth), Bill (Margaret) John (Donna) and Michael (Joanne). Frank was an active member with Knights of Columbus for over twenty years after his retirement from 40 years of proud service with GM in St. Catharines. Dad was an active member of St Alfred†™s Parish where his assistance in parish community events, at services and as an extraordinary minister were much appreciated. Dad loved his maritime roots having grown up in Midland/Penetang, where he still has many cousins, he naturally took to boating, loved the outdoors and fishing. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Tuesday, December 18th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers will take place Tuesday at 3p.m. in the funeral home. Funeral Mass will take place Wednesday morning at 9:30 a.m. at St. Alfred†™s Parish, 272 Vine Street St. Catharines. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
