Dear Theresa and family..I was so sorry to hear of the passing of Bob.Bob came into my life when the roadrunners did a run for me after my accident in 1978. I have know him for a long time. Then we met again when I worked at City Hall. I don't think that I ever saw Bob without a smile on his face...and always kind and inquiring about my well being. Such a wonderful person. I am sorry for your sudden loss and send my best wishes and thoughts. Take care. Cathy

To a man who taught me to never give up on anything, you will be deeply and truly missed. Bob was not only a very close family friend, but a mentor and an inspiration. I learned to swim in his backyard. He taught me not to be afraid of mascots. He read stories to me as a child. The memories will stay with me forever. RIP Sparky!

Photographer Bob Pops Up Again!
In the first winter we moved to our country home, we awoke to a significant amount of snow that would require a couple of hours shovelling before heading out to work. We headed out to begin shovelling around 6:30 in the morning and were startled to see someone standing on the road taking a picture of our home. No surprise, it was Bob! We have no idea how he managed to get through the very deep drifts on our country roads. He said that he just had to come to see winter in the country. And of course, he stuck around to help shovel out the driveway so we wouldn't be late for work.

To a great father figure, the man who initiated my passion for running and volunteering, came to all of my competitions growing up to take countless photos, taught me how to swim, and encouraged me to live my life in a way that makes the world a better place and allows me to leave behind a legacy, I am forever grateful. Running has shaped the person I am today and I owe that to Bob for introducing me to the sport he loved. I remember him constantly trying to press the importance of fitness into my head, and I just looked up at him and said, "Okay, Bob but I'm only seven." Ever since then I have been enthralled in my passion for track and field and giving back to the community by coaching various youth running programs. Bob was truly an inspiration and he will never be forgotten. RIP ♥

Dear Terry, Danielle and family,
We were so shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Bob's untimely passing. We are so honoured to have called him friend and so blessed to have had him in our lives. His enthusiasm for life was so infectious and you never knew when he was going to show up with his camera, ready to capture everyone's life moments. Our girls treasure all the pictures that Bob has given them over the years. We know that he has left a tremendous legacy not only for his family, but throughout the entire community. He may be gone but will definitely never be forgotten. We hope that the many happy memories you have will help you through this very difficult time.

Our hearts go out to you, Terry, Danielle and family.
A little trivia for Danielle. Wayne coached you in YBC basketball. Your dad being the enthusiastic parent that he was volunteered to help Wayne make trophies one year for every member of the team. Their philosophies were the same, to recognize every member of the team no matter their skill level.
Wayne remembers you as a great kid and a good basketball player.
Bob welcomed a bunch of gals about 24 years ago into the Road Runners as Race Walkers. This was really something. I certainly wasn't the best of the bunch but was encouraged none the less.
I started a walking club at work and Bob came to my place of employment and measured out the path for me so the girls would know how far they were walking.
As told at the funeral today the stories go on but I just wanted to share a couple of mine.
As time goes on all these memories will comfort you.

I am one of Bob's many old St. Catharines Roadrunning buddies. Bob was a lifesaver, both in his professional work of fire prevention, and in the many people he inspired and motivated to adopt long distance running as part of a healthy life style. He had such an impact on so many lives and will never be forgotten.

Aunt Teresa and Danielle, Neil,
After all the 5ks, 10ks, half maraothon and Around the Bay, Bob always came back for for so many. Bob came back to help others meet the finish line and dhared in that moment that he knew so well....finishing and helping so many others drive their performance.
Knowing Bob and having the pleasure of running with him, I got that first hand.
I am so sorry that Aunt Teresa has lost her best friend...Danielle losing your Dad i can't even imagine. Even though we have had distance I remember just like yesterday. yOu never forget.
I believe Bob is up in heaven mapping out some new trails, he clearly has run them all here on earth and has gone on to set new paths.
In time, he will come back for you, he will meet you and bring you through the finish line in heaven....because that is what he would do for others.
I am so sorry he is gone....I really am. Love to you all.

Bob
I first met Bob this past October while training as Physical Activity Advisors for the Niagara Region. Bob is a good person who loved life and lived for helping others. His positive outlook on everything was contagious, and he was a pleasure to volunteer with. It was an honour to know him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

There are no words that express my shock at your loss of such a wonderful friend, husband, Father, Grandfather and all of the other roles Bob played. He was a fantastic motivator and so very enthusiastic about his life and the people he shared life with. Terry my heart goes out to you and Danielle (Muffin) I remember when you were born Danielle, seems just yesterday. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all from my family to yours. Perry, my son was just with Bob at the Boxing Day Run and at the start of the New Year's day run. He sat with us and we all talked about how much running meant to us. He expressed such pride in his family and what it meant to have Grandchildren. Again my heart goes out to you. Lovingly Sandra.
