Obituary of Charles Murdock Vincent Faulkner
Faulkner, Charles Murdock - a WWII Veteran, passed away peacefully at age 89 on January 2, 2013, with his daughter Sharon and niece Debbie at his side at Albright Manor.
Charles served honorably with valor as a paratrooper in the 1st Canadian Parachute Battalion during WWII while stationed in North West Europe. The battalion, composed of the elite of Canadian soldiers, neither failed to complete a single mission nor gave up an objective once taken. A true patriot, Charles bravely served his country with pride and courage. During a brief stint in Niagara-on-the-Lake he met his beloved Vera. After the war, he fulfilled his dream to marry his sweetheart and they started a family in Jordan Station where he built his own home. He was immediately employed with Ferranti-Packard and perfected his trade as a tool and die maker. Charles had a passion for motorcycles and always enjoyed touring on his BMW. Most of all he cherished his time with family. He was most grateful for having survived the war, that he may fulfill his ultimate dream of raising a family- something he viewed as God's most precious gift. Our beloved Charles, we wish for you fair winds and soft landings.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years Vera Faulkner (nee Kasper), cherished father to Sharon, devoted Grandfather to Briar Geraci and her husband Jeff , and loving Great Grandfather to Merrick and Calia. He is the son of the late William and Veronica Faulkner (nee Tucker) from Nova Scotia. He will be greatly missed by his brothers Bernard and Daryl and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his brothers Edward and Frank and his sister Loreen. He†™ll be remembered by friends and family for his witty sense of humor, unmatched kindness and glorious smile.
The family thanks Kathy Kaczmarski for the loving and compassionate care she provided to Charles over the years and the support she and her family have provided. Our thanks to the Albright staff and residents who loved and cared for Dad.
The Family will receive friends and loved ones at Heritage Reformed Church, 4171 15 Street Louth, Jordan Station, Ontario for visitation on Sunday, January 6, between 7-9pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 1:00pm at Heritage Reformed Church with burial to follow at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery 1483 Lakeshore Road.
