Obituary of Edna Mae McIsaac
McIsaac Edna Mae (nee: Handley) It is with great sadness that we announce Edna's sudden passing on Friday, January 18th, 2013. Born in 1915 in Sydney Mines, Nova Scotia. Daughter of the late Edward and Mary Handley (Pero) Beloved wife of the late Michael McIsaac. Loving mother of Joseph Byron (Marilyn), Michael Craig, mother in law of Donna. Predeceased by her daughter Edwina Locey, son Milton and son in law Bob. Cherished grandmother of Susan, Carolyn, Carrie- Anne, Arlene, Gregory, Andrew, Michael, Scott, Shawn, thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Sister of Bobby Walker (the late Rod), Cyril Handley (Annette). Predeceased by her brothers Bill, George, Edward and sisters Florence Dowling and Lorraine Werezak.
Edna retired from General Motors on April 1st, 1974 after over 20 years of employment. She enjoyed being with her family. Edna was always very active. She loved shopping and was very independent. Her dog, Phoebe was such a big part of her life.
Cremation has taken place. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St. on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A Memorial Mass will be held in the Cathedral of St Alexandria of St Catherine on Friday at 11 am. Inurnment will take place at later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Shaver Hospital or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
