Obituary of James Michael Zahorchak
ZAHORCHAK, James "Jim"
Unexpectedly at home in the presence of his family on January 7th at the age of 62.
Predeceased by his parents Albert (1967) and Mary (2007), and brother Edward (1992). He will be missed and remembered by the entire Zahorchak and Sirotnik families, and his wide circle of friends.
Jim was an active and committed member of the Slovak community, including the Canadian Slovak League-Branch 31, CSL Branch 23 Seniors Club, Slovak Canadian Heritage Museum (Board of Directors) and was a dedicated member of the Welland Canal Lock 3 Museum upcoming Slovak exhibit. Jim enjoyed pursuing his interests in photography and history. He was a proud retiree of General Motors.
The family extends sincere thanks to Dr. Roger Rose for his help and support.
Jim's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street on Friday, January 11th from 1-4pm and 6-9pm. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Julia Catholic Church, 251 Glenridge Avenue on Saturday, January 12th at 11am. In accordance with his wishes, cremation will follow the service with a private inurnment at a later date. Vigil Prayers will be recited in the funeral home chapel on Friday at 3pm. If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
