VAN HOOYDONK, Cornelis
Passed away peacefully with family by his side, at Hospice Niagara, on Sunday, January 6, 2013 in his 93rd year. Born on March 20, 1920 in Ginneken en Bavel, The Netherlands. Cornelis leaves behind his beloved wife of 65 years, Petronella (Nelly). Cherished father of Anton (Adriana), Ann (Doug) Oliver, Connie (Doug) MacFarlane, Harry (Debra), Cathy (Jim) Good, and Anita. Opa will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren: Christine (Eric) Valk, Evelyn (Daryl) VanDyke, Anton (Ruth), Adrian (Marjorie), Jeff (Kelly) Oliver, Leanne (Brandon) Habermehl, Greg (Karen) Oliver, Jennifer MacFarlane, Kimberly MacFarlane, Kennedy (Kelly), Brandon (Janna), Kevin (Brianna), Kevin O'Connor, Carley, David Good, Michael Good, Christopher Felton, Jessica Felton and his 28 great grandchildren.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Niagara Gardens and Hospice Niagara for their care and support.
Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines, on Wednesday, January 9th from 7-9 p.m (Vigil prayers will be held at 8 p.m.) and Thursday, January 10th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine Street, on Thursday at 1 p.m., with interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Hospice Niagara would be appreciated by the family.
