BONOMI Martina (Martha) It is with sadness that we announce the passing of a remarkable woman who passed away peacefully on Monday, March 4th, 2013. Born in Switzerland in 1906, moved to Canada in 1927 to marry her fianc�©, Alois. Happily married for 49 years until his passing in 1976.Loving mother of Rosemary, Louis (Joanne), Leo (Phyllis) and predeceased by her son Joseph (2012). Cherished Grandmother of Marijo, Michael, Susanne, Joanne, Earl, Stefanie, Martina, Genevieve, Bridget and Thomas and great grandmother of Frances, Joshua, Alexandra, Peter, Mathew, Kristen, Noah, Kennedy, Samantha, James and Alice. Martha was an active, life long parishioner of the Cathedral of St Catherine of Alexandria, a member of the CWL and the Auxiliary of the Hotel Dieu Shaver, as well as a member of the Cathedral Socialites Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St. on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Vigil prayers will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 3:30 pm. Martha will lay in state at the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria on Thursday morning from 8:30 - 10 am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in the Cathedral of St Catherine of Alexandria Roman Catholic Church on Thursday at 10 am. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations to The Cathedral of St Catherine of Alexandria or the Hotel Dieu Shaver Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
