Obituary of Claudia Gionet

Gionet, Claudia (nee Dugas) - Passed away peacefully in the presence of her loving family on Sunday February 3, 2013 at the St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 80 years. Loving wife and soul-mate to Guy for over 58 years. Beloved mother to Josephine (John) Johnston, Marguerite (Perry) Poirier, Antoinette (Fred) Randall, and Guy Jr. (Franca). Cherished Grandma to Adam, Paul (Erin), Samantha, Eric, Emma, Chelsea, and Aaron. Survived by her siblings Simone, Berthe, Anita, Jean -Claude, Marcel, and their families. Predeceased by her brother Yves and sister Therese. Claudia was a proud and faithful member of the Eglise Immaculee Conception. She was unselfishly devoted to the care of her husband until her passing. Mom was a loving person and will be missed by all. Family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Sunday between 2-4 and 7-9pm. Vigil Prayers will be held in the funeral home on Sunday at 2pm. Funeral Liturgy will take place at Eglise Immaculee Conception, 101 Garnet Street on Monday at 10am with burial to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Donations may be made to the St. Catharines General Hospital - Walker Cancer Centre, Rankin Cancer Run or Lincoln Humane Society.
