Obituary of Donald (Don) Onyschuk
ONYSCHUK, Donald (Don)- Passed away with his loving wife by his side on Saturday, March 9th, 2013 at the St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 71.Beloved husband of Olga for 48 years. Cherished father of Matthew (Selma) and Christopher (Lora). Loving Gigi of Daniel, Esra, Joshua, Devyn, Owen and Carter (twins). Brother of Roy (Ann) Onyschuk and Ted (Donna) Onyschuk. Brother in law of Ronald( Maureen) Wenger. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews and cousins. Don spent his ladder years volunteering at the St. John Ukrainian Catholic Church assisting in the kitchen and hall along with assisting as the Vice-Chancellor of The Ukrainian Catholic Eparchy of Toronto, helping them through many challenges and utilizing his God given skills gathered over his lifetime. He was a great cross stitch needle worker, and a lover of jazz and classical music. He ate many a fine meal and finished them with a single malt. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Thursday from 2-4p.m. & 7-9p.m. Panachyda will take place on Thursday at 7:30p.m. in the funeral home. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at St. John Ukrainian Catholic Church, 91 Lakeshore Road, St. Catharines on Friday at 11a.m. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations to Children's Make A Wish Foundation or St. John Ukrainian Catholic Church would be appreciated by the family.
