GARDNER, Ralph Clarke
After a brief struggle and while surrounded by his loving family on Friday, April 19th at the St. Catharines General Hospital-NHS in his 80th year.
Dearly loved husband of 49 years to Rose and much loved father of Lynn (John) Elcich and Nancy (Stuart) Platt. Cherished Grampy of Jacob and Michael Platt, and Carly Elcich, who will miss their fun times together. Also survived by his brother Earl (Mary) of Brighton, Ontario, and brother in law Bill (Elaine) Evanoff of Bluffton, South Carolina.
Ralph belonged to the Wine Club at Niagara College, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He volunteered for over 10 years at the Distress Centre and was an avid reader with his favourites being mystery novels and the newspaper.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place.
Ralph's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Friday, April 26th from 10-10:45am. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will follow in the funeral home chapel at 11am with a private family inurnment at a later date. If desired, memorial donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Kidney Foundation or the Lung Association would be appreciated by the family.
