Obituary of John George Ward

WARD, John G. (Sgt.) - On Tuesday, March 26th, 2013 while surrounded by his loving family at the age of 96, Jack joined his beloved wife Lucretia. Cherished father of Bette (Don) Nunnenmacher, John (Pam Sayer) Ward and June (Robert McGinnis) Ward. Proud grandfather of Hollyce (Mike), Eryn (Robert), Layne, Cailey (Jason), Sean (Tiffany) and Jordan (Renee). Great grandfather (GG) of Aidan and Alexander. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister in law Eleanore Ward, brother in law Milt Swant and his many nieces, nephews and friends. Jack was an avid wood carver and a member of the Niagara Wood Carvers and a long time member in good standing of the Royal Canadian Legion, N.O.T.L. Branch 124. He was an athlete and a long time member of White Oaks. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Jack's Life will take place on Saturday, April 13th at St. George's Christ Homer Church, 163 Queenston Road, Niagara on the Lake at 11a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.
