Obituary of Leslie Alfred DeBeau
DeBeau, Leslie "Jake" - With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Jake, on Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at the age of 63, at the St. Catharines General Hospital with his loving family by his side. Devoted husband and best friend to Shirley (Caughell) of 39 years, loving father to Tanera and Christopher (Melissa), brother to Jim DeBeau and Audrey Place, brother-in-law to Bettie and Claude Wilcox, Nancy and Bruce McQuiggin, Tennie and Clint Hicks and caring friend to many others. Predeceased by his parents Larry and Cecilia DeBeau, and his in-laws Lavern and Tillie Caughell. Jake will be fondly remembered by his Aunt Shirley, Uncle Jake, his nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jake retired in 2007 after 31 dedicated years at Atomic Energy of Canada in Mississauga to enjoy more time golfing, fishing, traveling and riding his Harley.
The family would like to thank Dr. Gregg and AnnMarie, the doctors and staff at the Juravinski Cancer Clinic, the doctors and nursing staff on the Palliative Care Floor at the St. Catharines General Hospital, CCAC and ParaMed staff and Jake's visiting nurse, Dorsay.
Family and friends will be received at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St. on Sunday, June 27th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, June 28th at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers, his family would appreciate donations made to Wellspring Niagara or the Walker Cancer Centre.
