Our hearts are very heavy as we struggle to accept the loss of our friend, Paul. He was such a dedicated husband, father and son. He was also a treasured brother, not only to Ang, Mike (x2) and Joe (and spouses), but to a whole group of aging high school footballers!! :) Crazy how after so many years, they remained so close, always there for each other, always sharing a laugh or two when time allowed. My heart breaks for you, Stacey, for the kids, the family… and also for this tightly knit group of friends that never thought in a million years they†™d have to say goodbye to one of their own. †œMambos† may be gone, but I know he will never ever be forgotten.
On behalf of my family, sincere condolences to all. God bless you Paul. Thank you so much for the memories. We will miss you!!!
Missy Hendriks

†œWhat moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget†

My heart goes out to all of you - a very loving and caring family whose positive impact has been felt by so many over the years. I remember Paul growing up as such a fun and light hearted person - a reminder to us all to live life fully in the moment. My thoughts and prayers are with you today and in the days and months to come.

The most wonderful neighbours a girl could ever ask for ... the Mambellas. Joey was my best friend and oh, how my 12yr old heart loved him! Paul was the quiet, more serious one who would surprise you with some silly antic and never fail to offer the most genuine smile, eyes twinkling. Angela babysat us, which was more like having a slumber party with the prettiest girl in town ... games, talking, giggling, love. Michael was like the older brother I never had - cutting the grass for my dad and taking me to Burger King when it looked like otherwise I might go without dinner. "Mr & Mrs Mambella" (for that's what kids called grown-ups back then!) were the sweetest parents; always so welcoming and kind - their home warm with the smells of delicious food (zucchini bread IS good!) and spirited laughter. I loved how all the boys had the same middle name, after their dad, cuz he was a good guy to be named after. When I close my eyes, I see the bright orange of piles and piles of pumpkins, the long endless rows of sweet purple grapes, and smiles - nothing but smiles.
I cannot express the overwhelming sadness I feel right now, and knowing it must surely be the smallest fraction of grief compared to what you are going through hurts that much more. I pray you find some comfort in the days to come.
Much love,
Tara

It is with a heavy heart and tears that I am writing this upon finding out about Paul's death.
My deepest sympathies to you Stacy, your children and to Paul's family .
I will always remember Paul's smile , laugh , the way he ran after a homerun , his calmness in the huddle. It was a great pleasure to know Paul as he was an energetic , positive , and outgoing individual as I am sure he was an awesome Dad, and loving husband.
I will remember you forever Paul !
God Bless You ,

It is with great saddness, and sorrow that I heard of Paul's passing. I have many wonderful school memories of Paul. I attended St.Edwards, and was in the same class with Paul from Kindergarten till graduating in 1982. Then onto High School, DM. I can still remember all those football games and the celebrations after at Honey's in the States. Good times, many memories.
Even though I have not seen Paul since the early 1990's I can tell you he was one of the Good Guys. It is hard to make sense of why only the good die young?
Tony, Peggy, Mike, Angela, and Joe I am so very sorry for the loss of such a wonderful son, and great brother. Keep your memories close in the days to come, and when you share a story of Paul he will be there.
Stacey I am so very sorry for the loss of such a special husband ,and wonderful father. When you are trying to make sense of such a difficult time, and you are missing Paul, just look at the smiles from your 3 little angels, and Paul will be smiling back at you.
So very sorry for your loss,
Paula Keon MacDonald and Family

Since I have not lived in Canada for over 15 years, I have been limited in the amount of interaction I have had with Paul and our circle of friends.
With relationships come great experiences and memories. My memories of Paul date back to high school and the years after high school I like to refer to as the "what do I do now with my life" years. Paul was a great teammate. This may not sound like the greatest of compliments, but my experiences as an athlete and coach prove to me that it is.
To me, a good teammate is always there for you - through the good times and the bad times. They are able to pick you up when you are down - they help you get "right." A good teammate is a person whom you enjoy being around. They make you feel confident about yourself and your life. They are trustworthy. Good teammates grow into great dads and husbands and as always, are great sons. Finding a good teammate does not happen everyday - when you lose that person it is so incredibly hard to understand.
I will miss Paul - I continue to miss our close circle of friends.

My deepest thoughts and prayers are with you Stacey and your precious angels. I know no words can take away the pain at this time but hopefully just knowing that there are
many people who love you, will be there for you and are praying for you. Death is devastating for those who are left behind but know that you will be together again, he will visit you in your dreams and when a warm breeze touches your face, it is him. He will be your forever angel.
A lot of time has passed since we've spent time together but know that I still love you now as I did then, forever friends and I will always be there for you.
Big hugs, Holly

Paul - you were the best bro! I will miss you SO much. You just finished all the HVAC/Plumbing in our new house and I'll be ever so grateful to you for doing such an AWESOME job. Simply can't believe you are gone brother - I am so very sad. I photographed your wedding and just did some beautiful family portraits for you >>when I actually found out that you did HVAC from Stacey. I'm so glad I got to know you better - and SO wish that you were able to do the next house that we talked about. Wish we were still chomping down on those big Subway sandwiches on my steps >> Rest easy brother - peace and everlasting fond memories. I hope and know we'll meet again bro - love you man. To Stacey: words cannot possibly express my condolence on your loss. May Jesus surround you with his love at this time of unimaginable grief. If there is anything we can do for you - please know that you can call and count on us anytime.

Paul was a wonderful person who really made others feel welcome. He was an integral part of his circle of friends and was an important piece that held them together.
