Obituary of David Osborne
OSBORNE, David (Dyke)-Died peacefully after a long courageous battle on July 30, 2009 with his family at his side. Dave leaves behind his wife and soul mate of 46 years Donna (nee Burtt) and his four loving children, Kim (Wayne) Martin, Pam (Eric) Everitt, Leah (Jeff) LaPlante and David Jr. (Larissa) Osborne. He was the best Poppa to Nicole, Kelsey, Katie, Carlie, Michelle, Heather, Wynona and Veronika. Predeceased by his loving parents Norman & Alice Osborne and Alice & Nells Tatton and Aunt Edna Jolliffe. Son-in-law to Marjorie and the late Charles Burtt. Brother to John (Sharon) Osborne, Jim (Mary-Lynn) Tatton and Mary Gunst. Brother-in-law to Jim (Noreen) Burtt, Rick (Graham) Burtt and "Pa" to Jimmy. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews who were very dear to him. Dave was a life member of the Grantham Optimist Club and also was a Master Mason at St. George's Masonic Lodge #15. He worked at Hayes Dana for 31 years until his retirement in 1997. Dave had many, many special friends and extended family who meant the world to him. Thank you to Dr. Murray and Dr. Ditor in St. Catharines, Dr. Moe and Haytham at St. Michael's Hospital and all caregivers at St. Mike's and the Toronto General Hospital Cardiac Divisions. A very special thank you to Don Walker who dedicated many days to Dave throughout his illness. Your caring ways did not go unnoticed. Dave is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street. The family will receive visitors on Sunday from 2-4p.m. & 7-9p.m. A Masonic Service will take place on Sunday evening at 7p.m. in the funeral home. A Funeral Service will take place on Monday at 11a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Michael's Hospital (Toronto) - Cardiology Division would be appreciated by the family.
