Obituary of Robin Stewart
David Robin Stewart (1928-2010): Born in Montreal, Quebec August 15, 1928, son of Royal Everet and Bertha Stewart. Robin died peacefully surrounded by love at Hospice Niagara, on October 31, 2010. He leaves behind his beloved and adoring wife, Yvette and loving children, David (Cheryl), Robin Ann Leask(Kerry), and Curtis (Robyn), as well as five cherished grandchildren, Jaime, Jenna, Read Leask, Cameron and Maxwell Stewart. He also leaves Erica, Loved sister in law. He is survived by his brother and best friend Dr. K. Royal Stewart (Sheila) from Montreal and eleven nieces and nephews. Robin graduated from McGill University in civil engineering and moved to St. Catharines to start D.R.Stewart Construction. He then partnered with Jack Hinan and became the presidents of Stewart & Hinan Construction. After Jack Hinan retired, Robin founded StuCor Construction which he became president until his retirement. Robin had a zest for life which he lived to its fullest. Sports were his hobby, art his delight and charities a must. Endless thanks to the many well wishers and friends and to the staff of the cardiac unit at Sunnybrook Health and Science Centre, Hospice Niagara and Dr.†™s David Henry and Brian Kerley.
Mr. Stewart is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St. St. Catharines. Visitations will be held on Wednesday November 3, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on November 4, 2010 at 1 p.m. at St. George's Anglican Church. 83 Church St. St. Catharines. In lieu of flowers, donations made to Hospice Niagara, Niagara Community Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be most welcomed.
