Obituary of Bruce Cordner

CORDNER, David Bruce. Sept. 25, 1933 - Oct. 12, 2009. Beloved BFF of Lorraine for 50+ years. Loving father of Kimberley Karlsen (Per), Sean (Colleen Kennedy), Keir (Roslyn Klein). Much loved grandfather of Macy, Katie, Kace, Maeve, and Molly. Brother of Richard (Leora), Edward (Carole) and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his father, Francis, and mother, Marion (Calvin). both of Northern Ireland. Bruce was employed by CBC as a TV News Producer/Editor for 35 years. He had the foresight to take early retirement at age 55 and has enjoyed his goldenyears. He was an active volunteer throughout his life and tennis, badminton, and lawn bowling kept him fit. He loved living in wine country and enjoyed his time in Port Dalhousie. He will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty and wry sense of humour. Thank you to the many nurses, doctors and staff of the ICU at St. Catharines General Hospital. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Bruce's life will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. on Sunday October 18, 2009 at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations made the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada would be appreciated by the family.
