Obituary of Wendy Myra Hopgood

HOPGOOD WENDY RN In sadness, on the 31st day of October, 2009, after a courageous battle, Wendy peacefully, with the love and support of close family and friends by her side, passed away in her family home. Beloved wife of James. Loving mother of Brooke (Rory Smith) and Brett (Jessica Little). Cherished grandmother of Kaelen and Trinity. She will be lovingly missed by her mother Dorothy McGrath and siblings Mike (Barb) McGrath and Jimmy (Shelley) McGrath. Wendy will also be missed by many sisters and brothers in law, nieces and nephews as well as all extended family and countless friends. She now joins her predeceased father Richard McGrath and grandparents Gwendolyn and James McGrath. Wendy's undeniable strength, compassion and loving ways will forever be missed. The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff at St Elizabeth's, especially Lynn, for their kindness and support over the past few months. Cremation has taken place and visitation will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St. on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A funeral service to celebrate and honour Wendy's life will be held in the chapel on Wednesday at 11am. Inurnment will take place in St. John's Cemetery at a later date. If desired memorial donations to the Brain Tumor Foundation of Canada would be greatly appreciated by the family.
