Obituary of Jacobus Marinus Vervoort

VERVOORT, Jack Peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, November 4th at the St. Catharines General Hospital-NHS at the age of 84. Loving husband of 58 years of Joanne and devoted father of Edward, Mary (Andy) Poulin, Mika (Dick Stuive) and Pam (Bob) Walker. Much loved grandpa of Jason (Jessica) and Brett (Becky) Poulin, Grant (Kim) and Laura (Cody) Vervoort and Robert and Cheryl Walker. Cherished great grandpa to Tianna Vervoort, Emily and Andrew Poulin and Dakota and Peyton Kenyon. Also survived by sisters and brothers Will Vervoort, Bill (Brenda) Vervoort, Coby (Jack) Snapper, John (Gloria ) Vervoort, Tiny Vanderzon and Paul (Maureen) Vervoort. He will also be missed by sisters in law Patti Vervoort, Trudy Vervoort, Truus (Finus) Van T'Ent and Dick Verbaan and brothers in law Bertus (Rie) Verbaan, Jan Verbaan, Daan (Tony) Verbaan. Predeceased by his brothers Gerry and Dick Vervoort and brother in law Ben Vanderzon. Jack's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Sunday, November 8th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine Street on Monday, November 9th at 11am. The Rite of Committal to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil prayers will be celebrated in the funeral home on Sunday at 7pm. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or Denis Morris High School would be appreciated by the family.
