Obituary of Virginia Ann Dempsey

DEMPSEY, Virginia (nee Crawford) Virginia passed away at home after a brief and valiant battle with cancer on Friday, November 6th at the age of 61. Much loved wife of 40 years of Randy, loving mother of Anne, Joel and Jennifer (Luke) Phelan, and cherished grandma of Nolan and Avery Phelan. Predeceased by her parents Margaret (nee Lewitt) and Jim Crawford and her sister Carol Walker. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends, her staff, and loyal customers at Silks Country Kitchen in Virgil. Virginia's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Tuesday, November 10th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, November 11th at 11:30am. In accordance with her wishes, cremation will follow the service. If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. True to form, she did the "Virgie Slide".
