Obituary of Vey Ellis Mellish

MELLISH, Vey Unexpectedly and while surrounded by his loving family at the St. Catharines General Hospital-NHS on December 19th at the age of 70. Much loved father of Brian (Sandy), devoted grandfather of Stephanie and cherished great grandfather of Joshua. Predeceased by his parents Vey and Edna. Vey was a proud lifetime member of the Grantham Optimist Club for over 30 years where he took great pride in working with the Hoby Program, and worked for the Lincoln County Board of Education for over 30 years. In his retirement he became an avid golfer and enjoyed bowling at the Fairview Bowling Lanes. He was a fan of the Slo Pitch community and took many joys in his volunteer work with local sporting events. Mr. Mellish's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Monday, December 21st from 7-9pm. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday, December 22nd at 11am. Cremation will follow the service. If desired, memorial donations to the Rankin Cancer Run would be appreciated by the family.
