Obituary of Douglas Duncan Hill

Hill, Doug Passed away peacefully on Monday, December 28, 2009, in his 76th year. Born in Aberfeldy, Scotland to Doug and Margaret Hill. He leaves behind his beloved and cherished wife Jacqueline Hill (nee Findlay) of Smiths Falls, Ontario. He was the loving father of Doug Hill and his wife, Monica in Fort McMurray, AB; Scott Hill and his fianc�©, Joanne Todd in St. Catharines, ON; Christopher Hill and his wife, Christine in Burlington, ON; Cameron Hill and his wife, Annette in Stoney Creek, ON. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren: Mikaela and John, Michael, Julia and Robert, Nathan and Megan, and Hailey and Tyler. He will also be missed by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, both near and far. He retired from the Niagara Regional Police Service after 33 years of service at the age of 59, which allowed him to perfect and pursue his love of golf. He was truly happiest surrounded by his children and his grandchildren and leaves behind a legacy of precious memories and enduring love. Friends may visit with the family at GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., on Friday, January 1, 2010 from 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Doug's life will be held in the funeral home's chapel on Saturday, January 2 at 4:00 p.m. Cremation to follow service. If desired, the family would gladly accept donations to the Canadian Cancer Society.
