Obituary of William Kenneth Gore
GORE, William Kenneth (Ken)-
It is with deepest sadness the family of William Kenneth Gore announce his passing on Friday, January 1, 2010 at the St. Catharines General Hospital, in his 86th year. Born in Preston, Lancashire, England on July 10, 1924. He leaves his wife of 60 years Marjorie and four daughters Ann (Alan) Weaving, Janet (Robert) Hanna, Kathryn (George) Carpenter and Carolyn (William) Underwood, Grandchildren Shawn (Jennifer) and Allison Carpenter, Charlotte Dickinson, William, Thomas and Christine Underwood. Survived by his sister Margaret Davies of Chelmsford, England. Predeceased by his parents William and Maggie Gore and his brother Thomas and sister Marjorie. William was a Past Master, Lodge of Two Mountains, Quebec 1978 and 1988, Member of St. Andrew's Lodge No. 661 St. Catharines and proud member of the Scottish Craftsmen's Association of St. Catharines and District. The family wishes to thank Dr. E. Minkarious, Dr. M. Levesque, the ICU nursing staff at the St. Catharines General Hospital and the Dialysis nursing staff at the Hotel Dieu, for their care and compassion throughout his illness. In accordance with Ken's wishes cremation has taken place. A celebration of Ken's life will be held at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Thursday, January 7, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Canada, Red Cross or St. Catharines General Hospital Foundation.
