Dear Rose, Darren, Derek I don't even have to mention how much this has impacted us all and I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me to get in touch with her these last couple of years. We had closure, something I never had with either of my parents. I am requesting that anyone who reads this please read my stories on the main page they are sure to make you smile! Also if anyone has the Lakeport 1981 Yearbook there is a half page or full page picture of Laurie and I standing at the lockers around a bunch of girls, we are bent over laughing and it would sure be great to see it posted on here. Take Care Keri

LAURIE'S CROSS
One day coming over to Laurie's home after school, later as the dusk set in, at the side of her home she had a clenched fist and grabbed my wrist and said here...so I opened my hand and in it she dropped a real gold necklace! I looked in disbelief at the beautiful crusafix and said I did not want her to get into trouble. After some prompting, I put it on and felt very loved! About a month later, I was visiting my cousin in Toronto and he made a comment that it was the one arm bandit and I said what do you mean and he said Jesus is missing an arm on your necklace! I looked at it and said oh you are right it is but that never bothered me however his mom who overheard the conversation became very upset and punished my cousin for his words and scolded him infront of us all. It was that very act that would one day see my cousin Steve C be ordained as a priest. Yes can you imagine that? Laurie's act of love to me ended up spreading to thousands in congregations! This necklace never left me until it was stolen when I was 29. I know who did it but that is irrelevent. Thank you again Laurie for sharing of yourself!

This is not too little to late
For we lived a thousand lifetimes together on those playgrounds and running through the fields riding the mini bike and gocarts. A million smiles A million tears and laughter yes we did, I can still hear now and will always be grateful that I LIVED, LOVED AND LAUGHED with you! As a side note I had not seen you since we were children and used to always stare at you in awe because of your limitless beauty both inside and out. You knew I was staring and you would just not mind. I believed more than with most that I could actually see your soul and it was good! And seeing this picture here really is how I imagined you would look as a young woman. Beautiful, Laurie you are beautiful and any man including my brother was lucky to have been in the company of you. I will tell you something I was trying to reach you about shortly before your passing. I was going for it, I tried out for Tommy Lee's Public Record and I worked very hard for a year, I did not make it on the CD but I have been in connection with him and others and who knows... someday I'll write a song about you,,,I already know I will.

Hi Rose, so glad to run into you and Laurie at Zellers a couple weeks ago. I am so glad I got to see her (and you too, of course)! I am so sad to hear of her passing, but it is nice to know that the pain and suffering are gone. I can't believe the journey you two have been on together. She was lucky to have you in her life. As a parent, I can't even imagine how difficult it was for you to have to watch her fight this battle, but fight she did!! Wishing you some peace. Call me and let's have coffee together when you feel up to it, I'd love to see you again. Love Lori 905-685-7254
