Obituary of Edward Potashnyk

POTASHNYK, Edward - Passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Sunday February 28, 2010 at the age of 66. Beloved husband of Donna. Loving father to Heather (Mark) Ravelle, Elizabeth (Marc Ross) of BC, Neil (Debbie) and Laurie (Roger) Armstrong and step father to Darryl (Janice) Damude of Ottawa. Cherished grandfather of Elizabeth, Tyler, Ryan, Nicholas, Benjamin, Macgregor and Kaitlyn. Edward will be fondly remembered by his half brother Eugene (Rita) Hawryluk, as well as Larry (Tracey) Clement and their children Sam and Olivia and sadly missed by his mother and father in law Bob and Helen Alton and brother in law Oddie (Darlene) Alton. Predeceased by his parents Peter and Mary and sisters Elizabeth and Celistine. Edward's greatest joy was watching his grandchildren in all of their activities. A passionate golfer, Edward was a longtime member of Sawmill Golf Course. He also enjoyed a competitive game of bowling with his wife. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to Pro Wellness and Jan Duncan for their care and compassion. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., on Wednesday March 3, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Julia Church on Thursday at 10 a.m. with interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Kidney Foundation, Canadian Diabetes or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by his family.
