Dear Aunt Doreen, I am far away from St. Catherines but not that far in memory of my dear Uncle Dave who was my Canadian sponsor and brought me to Canada at age 17 to explore and learn my life path and above all appreciate everything Canadian. I'll miss Uncle Dave's festive cheer, his under-exaggerated tomato achievements! and most of all his calming advice in those early days. Our heartfelt thoughts are with you and all the family.

What I will remember most about my wonderful Grampa is his endless good humour, his clever insights, and the twinkle he always had in his eye. His wise words will always be something I hold close to my heart. He loved just sitting and chatting with and I will miss our chats and his stories.
I only ever knew one Grampa and he was the greatest Gramps one could ever wish for.
I know that he will always be with us, smiling down on us from above.
I will try to make him proud by living life to the fullest in his memory.
Love Always Tay

Dear Aunt Doreen and family, I'm very sorry to hear of the passing of Uncle Dave. He led a long and very full life. I have fond memories of him barbequeing hot dogs and burgers for us all at the house in the Martindale Rd. area. It was good to hear he was comfortable at the end and surrounded by his loving family. Take care love Todd and Naomi

Grampa, You have been a caring and loving grandfather. You have given me endless support and wisdom and I am forever grateful. To me your name rings of childhood memories: picnics, walks, skating on the lake, your determination in keeping the TV off and me out, fresh giant fruits of Ontario: peaches, watermelons and others, neighboring fields of flowers, friends, games and discussions about the rights and wrongs, about your life and my future.
You were an exceptional being and you will be forever in my heart. You can continue to be our angel and be always by our side.

Dear Aunty Doreen,Sandra,Terry,Alan and members of the Jukes Clan....It was a sad day for all of us "down-under" to hear that Uncle Dave had passed away. Dave was one of nature's true gentlemen who presented an excellent role model for this wild colonial boy to try and follow. In our brief times together when i dropped in to stay from places far away, Dave was always a great host, most generous with his time and kindness, and a good mentor to me with his attention to detail, strong sense of discipline and devilish sense of humour. I will miss my uncle Dave dearly and like the boys i too have a "12 year old Glenlivet" which has been horded for a similar period that no doubt will shed a "dram" or two in his good name....cheers to Dave.

Canadian Visit many moons ago
Do you remember my saying in all innocence that I had not seen any Canadian wild flowers Doreen. From that moment on Dave made a point of stopping the car at ALL wild flowers and finally presented me with a bouquet of the wildest Canadian blooms. It must have been the cheapest bunch of flowers he ever presented to a girl!! I loved it!There were so many happy memories of that particular trip - The visit to the tobacco farm, to the doughnut shop, to the ice cream parlour, and to his many relatives. He will always be remembered as by us all in our own indiviual manner as the Canadian Welshman who stole a Scottish /Irish lass and took her back to the Colonies!!! To you all, our deepest sympathy in your irreparable loss, and our love always Dorsay/Harold
