Obituary of Nickolas Zalot

Zalot, Nickolas (Nick): On November 16, 2008 a great man passed away. To the world he was one person, to us he was the world. Beloved husband of Ann for more than 61 1/2 years. Loving father of Brenda & Dave Young of St. Catharines, Gary and Cathy Zalot of Fonthill, and Cindy and Larry Cluness of London. Cherished grandfather of Courtney (Carol), Brooke, Jessica (Nick), Matt (Jamie), Erica, Lindsay and Vanessa, great grandfather of Emily, Curtis, and Roza. He is survived by his sisters Mary, Dolly, Helen, and sister - in - law Pauline. Predeceased by is daughter Caroline (1949), and brothers George, Bill, and John (Peanuts). He worked from 1936-1957 at Canadian Canners Plant 18, Lake St. St. David's Plant until 1965, and then he was employed as a Millwright at General Motors until his retirement in 1987.Nick was a member of C.A.W. Local 199. Mr. Zalot is resting at the George Darte Funeral Home 585 Carlton St. St. Catharine's Friends may call on Tuesday November 18, 2008 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Nick life will be held at the George Darte Funeral Chapel Wednesday November 19, 2008 at 11 a.m. with Canon Gordon Kinkley Officiating. interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy memorial remembrances can be made to the Community Care (Christmas Fund).
