Obituary of Olga Smook
Smook, Olga - Passed away peacefully in the arms of her loving daughter on Saturday December 6, 2008 at the Heidehof Home at the age of 94. Beloved wife of the late William (November 1988). Loving Mother of Eugene (late Eleanor), Ben (Betty) and Adele Krawchuk (Wally). Special Babka to her granddaughters Gena (Roy), Patricia (Brian) and Kimberly (Pritpaul). Special Babka to her great-grandchildren Jonathon, Geoffrey, Jacquelyn, Jesscia, Courtney, Breanne, Braden and Serena. Survived by her sisters-in-law Mary Homeniuk, Irene Homeniuk, Dora Klem, Mildred, Olga and brother-in-law Jarvis (Eileen) and many nieces and nephews and their families. Predeceased by her parents Michael and Anna Homeniuk, sisters Mary, Margaret, Lillie, Lena, Nita; brothers John and Bill. Olga was an active member of St. John Ukrainian Catholic Church.
The family will receive friends at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton Street until Thursday at 9:30am. Visiting hours are Wednesday between 2-4 and 7-9pm. Panachyda will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:30pm. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at the St. John Ukrainian Catholic Church, 91 Lakeshore Road on Thursday December 11 at 10am. Internment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to be made to the St. John Ukrainian Catholic Church Fund would be appreciated by the family.
