Obituary of Lina Pellizzon

PELLIZZON, Lina- December 7, 1924 - February 12, 2009 It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lina at the St. Catharines General Hospital-NHS on Thursday, February 12, 2009, in her 85th year. Beloved mother of Terry (Ron) Wyborn and Alice (Gary) Sawayama. Nonna to Stephanie (Michael) Smith of Innisfil, Kevin (Andrea) Wyborn of Toronto, Neal (Marnie) Wyborn St. Catharines, Andrew Sawayama of Pasadena and Kyle Sawayama of Kamloops. Great grandmother (Nonni) to Tristan, Quinn Lina and Teslyn Smith. Predeceased by her husband Battista (1976) and her brother Giuseppi of Italy (1986). Lina is survived by her sister Rita and her brothers Pietro and Davino of Italy. Lina was close to all her cousins, nieces and nephews especially Alice and Alfeo Gallino of Hamilton and Tony and Doris Pellizzon of Oxford Michigan. Formerly from Timmins, Lina lived in St. Catharines for the past 12 years. Lina enjoyed a vibrant Social life as a member of Club Roma and as a participant in the Heidehof therapeutic swimming program. She will be sorely missed by her friends and neighbours. Family was everything to Lina and she was "Nonna" to all who knew her. Lina is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., until Thursday morning at 10:30. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine St., on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation to follow service and an interment will take place at a later date in Timmins. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 18, 2009 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be offered Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Salvation Army or charity of your choice.
