Hi there I am looking for some relatives of mine on my dad's side of the family. I think I might be related to this family. I would appreciate if you might pass this message on to them. My grandfather was Earle Meharg baird who was the brother of Wilmont Baird. Earle had three sons, David, Douglas and Duncan. Douglas Baird is my father. My grandfather Earle passed away when my dad was around 14 or so and then i think they lost contact with my grandfather's side of the family. I have heard a little about Wilmont and I am just interested in connecting with other lost family members. I searched for Wilmont and found he had a son named Donald and a daughter named Aileen and then searched for Donald and came across this information. I aprreciate that you have left this information on the web site for several years now.
I look forward to hearing from you.

To Joan and Family:
We offer you our sincere condolences at this time. Although we haven't been in touch for many years, we remember the good times we had together on the surveyors' trip to Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji in 1988. You and Don made that trip most memorable for us.
As you know, Don was one of the most capable and best-liked surveyors of our time, whom we admired very much. He was one of the best!!

I still have good memories of Don as our Party Chief with the Surveys branch of DHO in 1947. He was an excellent person to work for and I'll always remember how proud he was of his new '47 Ford Coupe.
I also had the pleasure of a brief opportunity to recall those memories with Don at the Marshville Fair about 3 years ago...Sincerely

Mrs Baird and family,
I was so very sorry to hear of Mr. Baird's passing this week. I only know too well what you are all experiencing. I remember some fun times we had with your family and Mom and Dad always kept us up to date on what was happening with the kids and where you were all living. It was so good to see you last fall, Jane, although also under sad circumstances. Even though I cannot extend my condolences in person, please know my thoughts and prayers are with you at this very difficult time.

I'm sorry I can't be there in person but I am definitely there in spirit. Thinking of you every day and enjoying the memories I have of Don over the years. He was the best father-in-law a girl could ever ask for and I'll miss him greatly. I'll never forget the "fondness" he had for fudge and anything chocolate. Dave & I could always count on getting something from some of the finest chocolate shops in St. Catharines under the Christmas tree every year...we always looked forward to that. I especially loved how I always got my own box without the nuts...he always remembered!!
My heart, thoughts and prayers are with all of you and if I know this family the way I do, you're all "celebrating" (wink, wink) and Don would be very proud!!
My family and friends pass along their condolences as well.
Love,
Heather :-)

Hello Trish and family:
Over the years, working with Trish, I was fortunate that she shared memories some of your family memories with me. I am so sorry for your loss, each of you will have different memories that you hold dear. Reading the "in memory", it sounds like Don led a very full and vibrant life and was an important member of the community that will be missed. He certainly raised a special family, along with your Mom. (Trish is not good at bragging but I know you are all successful and involved in your communities). Your Mom is blessed to have a loving family - children/in-laws/grandchildren.
Take care - you are in the thoughts of the entire Community Care group.
Warmly,
Sherry Gibson
