Obituary of Bryon George Ball

BALL, Bryon (Sr.) 1934-2009 - Passed away on Sunday, May 10th, 2009 at the St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 74. Beloved husband of 56 years to Mabel. Loving father to Louann Petroff and Bryon Ball (Jr.) of St. Catharines and Tim Ball of Bridgenorth Ontario. Father in law to Brenda Ball of Bridgenorth. Grandfather to Chris Petroff of Kitchener, Laura Petroff of St. Catharines and Katie Ball of Bridgenorth. Brother to Bev Coulson of Oshawa. Bryon is predeceased by his son in law Ken Petroff (2007), his parents Herbert (Sr.) (1945) and Louise (1991), his brother Herbert (Jr.) (1990) and his step father Alfred Jones (1990). He will be missed by his aunt Elsie Brennan of Niagara Falls, New York and his dog pals Shadow and Maddie. Bryon proudly worked for TRW for 47 years, in several capacities and retired in 1999 as Vice-President and General Manager. He coached hockey many years ago in CYO, Kiwanis and Legion. His hobbies included gardening and moving. Bryon will be sadly missed by his many friends near his cottage in Combermere, Ontario. He was a member of St. Catharines Probus Club.Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, on Wednesday from 2-4p.m. & 6-9p.m. A Memorial Service will take place at St. Julia Church on Thursday at 10a.m. Memorial donations to Canadian Cancer Society or Women's Place or to the St. Catharines General Hospital- 2nd Floor Palliative Care would be appreciated by the family.
