Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Roadnight
Roadnight, Mary Elizabeth "Betty" (nee McPhaden)-
Betty went home peacefully, to her Lord and Saviour, with her loving family by her side, at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital, on Saturday, October 27, 2007, in her 84th year. Beloved wife of the late Russell Roadnight (1997). Loving and cherished mother of Maureen Fraser (Ron Chenier), Garry (Brenda) Roadnight, Paul (Marie) Roadnight, Brian (Nancy) Roadnight, Charlene (Normand) Desrochers, and Karen (Arie) Molenaar. Special grandmother to Jennifer Overend, Aaron Roadnight, Lauren and Chantal Desrochers, Kendal, Jory and Darcy Roadnight, Rebecca Hahn, Sarah and Jaisen Roadnight, Mary McEachern, Rob Drury, and Kathy Lynn McCaffie. Betty is also survived by her great grandchildren and her sister Carol Murphy. Predeceased by her son Glenn (1978), her mother Mary McPhaden (1996), and her siblings Lorne and Peggy McPhaden. A very special thanks to the staff at the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital for their excellent care over the past 6 months. Mrs. Roadnight is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., until Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. A celebration of Betty's life will be held in Bethel Baptist Church, 10 Arlington Ave., on Tuesday, October 30, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow service at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. Public visitation will be held in the funeral home on Monday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. If desired, donations made to the Gideon Canadian Bible Society, would be appreciated by Betty's family.
