Obituary of Annie Smilley Stelliga

Stelliga, Annie died peacefully at Tufford Nursing Home on Saturday November 3, 2007. Beloved mother of Kathleen Rosloski and son-in-law, Dr. Joseph Rosloski. Grandmother of Rebecca (Christopher) Henson, Sarah (David) Rosloski, and Stephanie Rosloski and Great Grandmother to Liam, Matthew, and Dui. Special aunt to Fred Harbinson and his wife Cathy, and sons, Fred, David, and Robert of Calgary, AB. Survived by one sister-in-law, Martina Harbinson of Fernie, B.B. and many other nieces and nephews. Annie was predeceased by her husband, Michael, her parents Fred and Kathryn Harbinson, her brothers Fred and James Harbinson, and her sister Kathleen Condon. Annie was born in Phoenix, B.C. in 1912 and spent her growing up years in Nelson and Cranbrook B.C. before moving to Fernie B.C. where she spent the rest of her life except for the last few years when she resided in St. Catharines, ON. Annie was very active in her church, served on the library board and was a volunteer at the library for 37 years. She received her 25 year pin as a member of the Fernie Cancer Society. Whenever an organization asked her for help she was always willing to lend a hand. She missed Fernie when she could no longer live on her own there and kept several pictures of Fernie available to show anyone who was interested and told wonderful stories of life in Fernie. Also she kept in touch with the comings and goings through the Fernie Free Press. She will be missed greatly by her family. There will be no visitation; cremation has taken place and a Memorial Services of her life, and burial will take place in Fernie at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations made in memory of Annie to the Juravinski Cancer centre in Hamilton ON or the Canadian Cancer Society.
