McAleese, William "Bill"
After a short illness on Tuesday, April 29th at St. Catharines General Hospital-NHS in his 82nd year.
Husband of Betty (McCollum) for 55 years, father of Mary Anne (Robert) Kormos, Elizabeth (Charles) Mahoney, Bill (Ann), Jane (Peter Timbrell) McAleese, Patricia (Brian) Storosko, John (Roberta), Sheila (Jerry) McLaughlin and Ellen (Richard Kordyban) McAleese. Loving grandfather of 22 grandchildren and brother of Helen (Bill) Hill. Predeceased by his brother Jack.
Bill's passion and love was the St. Catharines Rowing Club and the sport of rowing. He was Founding Member of the St. Catharines Rowing Club Old Boys, the C.H.R.C., a member of the Royal Niagara Military Institute, the Lincoln and Welland Regiment Association and the Port Dalhousie Legion, Branch 350.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines.
A Memorial Mass to celebrate Bill's life will be celebrated from St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 316 Queenston Street on Saturday, May 3rd at 9:30am. Inurnment to follow at 12 pm in Victoria Lawn Cemetery.
If desired, memorial donations to the St. Catharines Rowing Club would be appreciated by the family.
