Ovenden, Roland Stephen "Rolly"
It is with great sadness the family of Roland "Rolly" Stephen Ovenden announces his passing at the St. Catharines General Hospital in his 60th year. He leaves behind his brother Terry and his sister Shelia and his canine companion Taz . He also leaves behind sisters Diane Lemon (Paul), Lily Lambert (Rick) both of Niagara Falls, Louise Anger (Dave) of Welland and Marie of St. Catharines; brothers Jim (Marj) of Fonthill and Paul (Nancy) of St. Catharines. He leaves behind special friends like Dot Joubert and Howard Smith both of St. Catharines. He is predeceased by his parents Henry (1989), Diana (2007), brother Albert (1967), uncle Ern (1985), aunt Lil (1982), many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He will be greatly missed by his co-workers at the Niagara Falls Wal-Mart, especially his midnight crew and Sharon and Judy. Also will be missed by his NASCAR pool group and was still in first place at the time of his passing!
Rolly is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel 585 Carlton St. until Thursday at 10:00 am. A ceremony to celebrate Roland's life will be held in the George Darte Funeral Chapel at 10:30am. Interment in Pleasantview Memorial Gardens. Visiting hours are Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 pm. Memorial remembrances to the Hamilton War Amputations of Canada c/o the Champ Program would be appreciated by the family.
