Obituary of Bridget Gilligan
GILLIGAN, Bridget (1918-2008)- The family of Bridget Gilligan announce the passing of their mother on July 3, 2008, at the St. Catharines General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. Predeceased by her husband Willy (1966) and her daughter Anne (1950). She will be mourned by her 9 children Michael (Colleen), Jerry (Gabe), Billy (Kathie), Chris, Margaret (Norm) Habel, Deirdre, Charlie (Carol), Maureen (Jim) Aitken, Tommy (Peggy). She will be missed by all of her 19 grandchildren and her 8 great grandchildren. Nana will be reunited with her three grandchildren who predeceased her Buffy Alexander (nee Gilligan, 1998), Daniel Aitken (1999), Corey Gilligan-Rains (2001). Mom will be remembered for her love of Euchre, the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Toronto Blue Jays. The family would like to thank Dr. Buetow for all her love and support to our mother and family. Bridget is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St., until Monday at 10:00 a.m. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in the Cathedral of St. Catherine, 3 Lyman St., on Monday, July 7, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. Rite of committal at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Public visitation will be held on Saturday evening from 7-9 p.m. and on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be recited Sunday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the R.A.F.T. or to the charity of one's choice. Mom we miss and love you very much.
