Paul was my step father.... He was like a best friend to me as well... Suddenly he was gone from my life.. and my mother was hours away too... I didn't understand why... And then a year later I heard he just passed away , a day before his wedding... Which blew my mind as a kid because he was engaged to MY mom... Paul was my step father for 9 years... And yet not a single mention of my mother, my 2 sisters, or myself. Paul meant so much to me.
I would stay up waiting for him to come home from work at 9:30pm.. so that we could play 007 on Nintendo 64 before I had to go to bed.... Every weekend he would take me to jumbo video or blockbuster.. we would watch rented movies every weekend, and play new video games.
He also taught me how to build bicycles.. and even had me help with fixing his motor cycle... I can't believe he was just suddenly out of my life.. and then suddenly I hear he passed away at my house, and was getting married and had another secret family
.. it tore me appart.
If anyone remembers me, likely Ryan or possibly John... If you feel comfortable answering some questions I've had for years and years... That would mean alot to me.
To me, Paul was not just a Father. He was my best friend..

The best memories that I have of my Uncle are his jokes and his laugh. I will miss him very much. Paul was the first person to let me drive when I was 16, me and my other cousin went to the falls. Paul was a great uncle to have.

We were sadly shocked to hear of Paul's passing and would like to extend our deepest sympathies and prayers of comfort to his family. Paul was a co-worker but became a 'fast friend'. We will cherish memories of the special times we spent with Paul; his hospitality to open his home to us one New Year's Eve and his patience with our large brood of rambunctious children! Friends were important to Paul and regardless of what was going on in his personal life, he always made time to appreciate his friends. His presence at my sister, Karen's surprise 40th birthday party helped to complete that celebration of close friends. Paul's conversations were often intense, always meaningful...leaving no doubt that he was a man with a big heart and a sensitive soul.
We were honoured to be considered his friends.
Rest in peace, Paul. You will be missed.
