Obituary of Verna Whiteley

Whiteley, Julie Verna Passed away peacefully at the St. Catharines General Hospital, Tuesday September 30th, 2008, in her 85th year. Beloved wife of Vernon (Ducky) Whiteley for 62 years. Verna is the loving mother of Sharyon (Walt) Ragukonis, Gail (Bill) Blaylock, Debbie (Bob) Wittig, Daryl (Wendy) Whiteley, and Julie (Mike) Zulik. She was a very proud and loving grandmother to Ethan & Melanie, Tara & Mike, Jennifer & Ger, Amy& Josh, Krista & Carl, Jaime, Abby, Adam, Greg & Rachel. She was the loving G.G. to her great grandchildren, Noah, Zakary, Meghan, and Maeve. Caring for and giving to her family was always her first priority. We feel truly blessed to have had such a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and G.G. There is no doubt she will continue to watch over all of us. Verna is resting at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St. Visiting hours are from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. on Friday, October 3, 2008. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, October 4, 2008 in the Chapel, with interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimers Society would be appreciated by the family.
