Passed away peacefully at the Hotel Dieu-Shaver Hospital with his loving family by his side.
Loving husband to Antonietta for 69 years. Predeceased by his son Andy (1993) and grandson Steven Carbonara (1993). Dear father-in-law to Alma Carbonara and father to Maria (Felice) Biancaniello and Josie (Vern) Dell. Proud grandfather to Peter (Kathy) Carbonara, Lisa (Rick) Sauve, Joey (Edna) Carbonara, Christina Elphinstone, Mike (Melanie) Biancaniello, Roseanne (Kurt) Dollinger, Steven Biancaniello, David (Gillian) Biancaniello, Christopher (Susan) Dell, Jason (Christine) Dell, Daniel and Jenny Dell. Great nonno will be sadly missed by Alexandria, Stephanie, Michael, Andrew, Carly, Sarah, David, Christopher, Kaitlyn, Felicia, Matthew, Mia, Leo, Connor, Emma, Chessa, Jacob and Serafina. Stefano was born in Nusco, Avellino Italy and served in the Italian Army in WWII. He immigrated to Canada in 1951 followed by his family in 1953. He worked at Beaver Wood Fibre in Thorold, South. For his love of children, after retirement he enjoyed being a school crossing guard. Stefano was an active member of Club Roma and St. Alfred's Parish. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation to the Red Cross, Care Partners, St. Catharines General Hospital and Hotel Dieu-Shaver Hospital. A special thank- you to the pharmacy staff at Briarsfield Shoppers Drug Mart.
Stefano's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Tuesday, September 5th from 7-9pm and Wednesday, September 6th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Vigil prayers in the funeral home on Wednesday at 3pm. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Catholic Church , 272 Vine Street on Thursday, September 7th at 9:30am. Rite of Committal Victoria Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Make a Wish Foundation or the St. Alfred's Church-Out of the Cold Program would be appreciated by the family. Stefano will be sadly missed by all whose lives he had touched.
