Obituary of Jean Paulishak
Paulishak, Jean (nee Glowa) - Left us peacefully on Monday March 07, 2011 at Specialty Care Mississauga, Ontario, in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late William "Bill" (Apr. 2008) for 54 loving years. Cherished and loving mother to Marlene Andrews of Mississauga, and to Lorrie and her husband Mark O'Neil, of Niagara on the Lake. Loving Grandma to Jeffery O'Neil of St. Catharines. Jean is survived by three sisters, Ann Jones and Hattie Misuida, both of Brantford Ontario and Tina Richels, of Brandon Manitoba. Predeceased by six
brothers and two sisters. Born in Alonsa Manitoba and after leaving Winnipeg, Jean decided to moved east to Ontario and began working first in Brantford and then in London. It was shortly after that when Jean first met Bill through mutual friends, not knowing that seven years later their paths would cross again where at that time they would marry, move to St. Catharines, raise a family and live there their entire married life. Jean was a devoted member of St. Denis Parish and a long standing member of the C.W.L. club. Jean is best remembered by her family and many nieces and nephews for her Saturday afternoon baking in the kitchen for family, church functions, and her many friends. Jean is most remembered for her wonderful pies, cookies and cinnamon buns at Easter. She also loved to travel with her sister Hattie whether it be across Canada to visit family in Alberta and British Columbia or to many tropical resort destinations such as Florida, Hawaii or Jamaica. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her through her kind words, affection and generous spirit as well as her warm and friendly smile.
Jean is resting at the George Darte Funeral Chapel, 585 Carlton St. until 11am Saturday. Visiting hours are Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Vigil prayers will be recited on Friday at 3pm in the funeral home. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Denis Church on Saturday at 11 am, to be followed by Rite of Committal at the Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial remembrances to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff at Specialty Care for their acts of kindness and caring while Jean resided there.
In one of the stars, I shall be living.
In one of them, I shall be laughing.
And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing when you look at the sky
at night. Her spirit lives on in all of us and will continue to shine
brightly forever.
A Memorial Tree was planted for Jean
