Obituary of Francis Ferdinand Bates

BATES, Francis Ferdinand "Ferdy, Frank" Passed away peacefully at Tufford Manor on Tuesday, May 7th in his 85th year. Predeceased by his cherished wife Shirley (1994), his 5 brothers, 3 sisters and his grandson Adam Branniff. Much loved father of Gerry (Jane) and Kevin (Joan), loving grandfather of Marlies and Robert, and devoted great grandfather of Connor. He will be missed by his loving companion Elaine. Also survived by his many nieces, nephews and friends. Frank retired from General Motors where he worked for over 35 years. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Frank's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, on Friday, May 10th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A service to celebrate his life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 10am. Inurnment following in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
