Obituary of William Jack Houghton
HOUGHTON, WILLIAM (Bill)
Peacefully with his loving family by his side, at Maple Park Lodge in Fort Erie on Friday February 2, 2007 in his 83rd year. Loving husband of the late Isabelle (1998). Loving father of Greg, Don and Anita, Janice and Brian Russell all of St. Catharines. Dear grandpa of James, April, Patrick, Alexandra, Tim, Julie, Pamela, and Kathryn. Great Grandfather of Devin, Daniel, Blake, Brent and Jessie. Bill was a driving examiner for the Ministry of Transport. Bill retired from the Niagara Regional Police force in 1984 after serving for 16 years. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1941 - 1946 in Bomber Command, 431 Squadron Stationed at Croft on Spa. Bill was also a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24, and attended St. Paul Street United Church. He will be missed by friends at Ina Grafton Gage Village, Anchor Point and St. Catharines Place. A special thanks to all the dedicated staff at Maple Park Lodge nursing home for all their care and support. Bill's family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton St. on Monday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Legion Service will be held by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24 on Monday night at 7:30. A celebration of William's life will be celebrated in the George Darte Funeral Chapel on Tuesday February 6, 2007 at 11:00 a.m.. Interment Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the St. Catharines General Hospital Foundation.
