Dear Lillian, Your brother John and his wife Eleanor just called me to inform me of Jerry's death. As I prayed for him during his illness I will continue to pray for him with a particular remembrance at the Masses I celebrate over the next several days. I will also be praying for you and your daughters and sons as well as other members of your family as this is a very special time for those who have had a close relationship with Jerry. Unfortunately, I will not be able to attend either the wake on Thursday or the Mass on Friday. I hope your memories of joyful times with Jerry will help you now and in the future. I recall with fondness your family and the fun we had helping with the farm many many years ago. My father Bud passed in 1990 and my mother Gerry in 2005 and I know they both enjoyed the friendship of the time. May your heart remember best what it loved most.
