Obituary of Joseph Prosper

Prosper, Joseph - After a courageous effort with cancer on Tuesday April 17, 2007 at the Toronto General Hospital in his 62nd year with his loving family by his side. Devoted husband to Vera for over 35 years. Cherished father to Ivy, Joe of Toronto, Isabel and Ricki both of Vancouver. Survived by his mother Julie and predeceased by his father Christian, many nieces, nephews and family members. Joseph displayed the truest characteristics of a Christian through his love, respect and optimism towards others. Joe was a loyal and hard working employee at General Motors for 29 years where he ended his career as a supervisor. Mr. Prosper is resting at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines, Ontario until Saturday at 11:30am. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday at 12pm in St. Alfred's Church, 272 Vine Street. Graveside committal will be held at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens following the church service. Visiting hours are Thursday 7-9pm and Friday 2-4 and 7-9pm. Vigil Prayers will be said in the funeral home on Friday at 3:30pm. Memorial remembrances may be made to the International Myeloma Foundation in the name of Prosper Research Fund Raiser.
