Obituary of Angelo Giancola
GIANCOLA, Angelo- Peacefully passed away on Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at the St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 77. Beloved husband of Anna for 55 years. Cherished father of Ralph( Karen), Mary-Anne and Dennis( Jackie). Loving Nonno of Sara, Joshua, Matthew and Nikko. Special brother of Rosa, Incoronata, Father Sandro, Sister Franca, Carmelina, Isolina, Rinaldo and Pierina and their spouses. Angelo is predeceased by his parents Raffaele and Marianna and his brothers Father Emilio and Nino. He will be sadly missed by his devoted caregiver Elizabeth as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Angelo and Anna came to St. Catharines in the early 50's and founded Sorrento Bakery on Facer Street. In 1965 they moved to Niagara on the Lake. Angelo was a nature and animal lover who sang in the choirs at St. Alfred's Church and Club Roma. He was a very spiritual person who was devoted to his family. As an inventor of gadgets, he took Reduce, Reuse, Recycle to heart. He was a kind and compassionate man who showed his generosity by helping families in Third World countries. Mr. Giancola is resting at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines. The family will receive visitors on Friday from 2-4p.m. and 7-9p.m. Vigil prayers will take place at 3p.m. on Friday in the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church on Saturday at 9:30a.m. Entombment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or World Vision Canada would be appreciated by the family.
