Obituary of Lester Howatt Nicolle

NICOLLE, Lester At home after a courageous battle with cancer and while surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 24th at the age of 77, he was received into the arms of Jesus. Beloved husband to Shirley for 53 years. Much loved father to Stephen (Catherine), Daniel (Joan), Sherrie (Carl) Beyer, Mark (Terra) and Tamara (Derek) Schaaf. Adored Papa to Jennifer, Richard (Lindsay), Mitchell, Stephanie, Justin, Jacob, Kristen, Victoria, Vanessa, Curtis, Katelyn, Nathanial, Holly and Hannah. Also survived by his extended family and friends. He retired after almost 50 years with the C.I.B.C. in St. Catharines and Hamilton. He was a dedicated member of Central Gospel and served as a caring teacher and small group leader- mentoring hundreds to a closer walk with the Lord. Lester's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton Street, St. Catharines on Sunday, July 29th from 2-5pm. A funeral service to celebrate Lester's life will take place on Monday, July 30th at Central Gospel, 240 Scott Street at 11am with burial to follow at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations to the Juravinski Cancer Centre, Hamilton would be appreciated by the family. The family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Dr. William McMillan and his team at the Juravinski Cancer Centre, Dr. Sandra Hartman and the palliative care team, and the wonderful care of Dr. Kelada-Sedra.
