Obituary of Michael DeRocco

DeRocco, Michael- The laughter has been silenced. Suddenly, after a brief illness, Massimo "Michael" DeRocco, passed away at Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital on August 4th, 2007, in his 81st year. Michael was pre-deceased by his lifelong love Barbara. Loving father to Laura (Glenn) Donaven, David (Marlee) DeRocco, Paul (Kelly) DeRocco. Cherished grandpa to Barry (Jo Ann) Donaven, Ryan Donaven, Britney Larocque, Dani Lee DeRocco, Keonna MacDonald, Contessa DeRocco and Amy Culliford. Brother to Carmel (Arnold) Vani, Jean (Italo) Colangeli, Mary Gibson, brother-in-law to Shirley (Antonio) DeRocco, respected uncle and cousin to many. Also pre-deceased by parents Ulisse DeRocco and Concetta (Collini) and brother Antionio (Tony) DeRocco. Fondly remembered for celebrating life through his eternal humour, stoic support of his family, selflessness and good-natured approach to life. Michael is resting at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton St.. Visitation will take place on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m. A celebration of Michael's life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday August 9, 2007, at 11 a.m.. Interment to follow service at Pleasentview Memorial Gardens. If desired, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Alzheimer's Society.
