Van Hal, Hendrika
Born Hendrika Helmes in Etten Province of GLD Holland on August 4, 1920 she came to Canada in 1953 where she married Wilhelmus Van Hal in March of 1954. Moved from Manitoba to St. Catharines in 1967 where she became a member of CWL in St. Alfred's Parish, member of the Cathedral Socialites and member of Mt. Carmel Family Club.Loving mother of Michelle (Rory) McCormick and Loretta Wolters. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Andrea, Julie, David, Steven, Tyler, Rachel, Alayna and great grandchildren Devan and Jacob. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Evaradus and Martina Helmes,
7 brothers and 4 sisters. Special thanks to Dr. Wayne Gruber and Dr. C. Buetow for all their kindness and care. Hendrika's family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME 585 Carlton Street on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Liturgy will be held in the Cathedral of St. Catherine of Alexandria on Wednesday August 22, 2007 at 10 am. Rite of committal to follow in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Parish prayers will be said at the funeral home on Tuesday at 3 pm. If desired memorial donations may be made to Mount Carmel Spiritual Center Niagara Falls or St. Vincent de Paul Society St. Catherines Cathedral.
