MACEACHERN JOHN FINLAY Passed away on Tuesday, February 15th, 2011 at the St. Catharines General Hospital, in his 93rd year. Predeceased by his loving wife Marguerite (Peggy). Loving father of Tom (Barbara), John (Janet), Chris (Sally), Karen (Helen). Cherished grandfather of Sean, Ryan, Sarah, William and Elizabeth. Dear companion of Marion Kennington. Dear brother of Jean Pritchard. Predeceased by his sons Mark and Jim. Finlay will be lovingly remembered by his many family and friends. Finlay was employed with the St Lawrence Seaway for 23 years. He enjoyed his summers in Cape Breton with the breeze in his hair, sitting under his favorite chestnut tree, overlooking the ocean. Family will receive friends at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St on Wednesday and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Church 272 Vine St. on Friday at 11:00a.m. The Rite of Committal to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil prayers will be celebrated in the funeral home on Thursday at 3:00p.m. Memorial donations to Community Living would be appreciated by the family.
